  • To enable us to protect our legal rights and enforce our Terms and Conditions of use.

How the Fobo app works

Fobo is a platform designed to build connections between users, these connections can be platonic or romantic. There are four primary ways of meeting people :

  1. By liking their profile in a swipe screen style setting.

  2. By searching with your chosen criteria.

  3. By engaging with others though group posts.

  4. By engaging with people at events.

There are areas in the app where you can see who you have matched with and a messaging system to exchange correspondence. The number of messages to “new contacts” you can send a day is limited to resolve one of the most common complaints about dating apps of too many low quality messages and there are limitations on other features designed to improve the quality of the interactions.

The information you share with other users.

To be able to use the app the information that you submit to populate your profile including your first name, age, height your interests etc is what other members will be able to see subject to their membership category. You can edit your information at any time in your profile settings but if you remove any of the “required” information this will result in your profile being hidden and loss of functionality.

You can hide or delete your profile in the settings menu. Dependant on your chosen action this is what will happen with your data.

  • Hide – this will remove the ability of others to find or view your profile and will remove your ability to use all app features other than your settings. Your data will stay in the app ready for re-use when you unhide your profile this includes any matches or message threads.

  • Delete – this will remove your profile from Fobo and delete all your data including matches, messages and photo’s. The messages you have sent to other users will not be deleted in accordance with “message title ownership” in the terms and conditions of use.

There is certain information that we might retain when you delete your to prevent abuse and/or misuse of Fobo. We shall retain such information as we deem in our sole discretion may be necessary to ensure that the user does not open a new account and profile in breach of our Terms and Conditions of Use and to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations. Warning: Even after you delete your Account, copies of that information may still be viewable and/or accessed on the Internet to the extent such information has been previously shared with others, or copied or stored by other users. We cannot control this, nor do we accept any liability for this.

When using Fobo you should assume that anything that you submit may be publically viewable and accessible by others, this includes people who do not use the Fobo app.

Fobo does not forward share any of your signup information.
